Your Liver Likes That!

Protecting the liver can extend life.

Your liver likes that!

Those who protect and care for their liver create a good basis for good health for themselves.

Often there are only a few small adjusting screws that you have to turn in everyday life so that the liver – and other organs – are doing well and can serve you loyally for a very long time, because this organ is vital!

Do your liver good!

Sometimes it is very difficult for her: alcohol, medication, environmental toxins, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides from our food, diseases … she works day in, day out, quite inconspicuously for our health.

The liver does a lot for you, but you can do something for it too! We have tips and advice and foods for you that are good for your liver!

Minimize alcohol and other poisons

Alcohol itself is a cell poison that is broken down by the liver and has its known effect very quickly in the brain.

So it’s very simple: the less alcohol you drink, the less this organ has to do and the better off it is!

Other toxins in everyday life also put a strain on your organs, so that you gradually store certain pollutants in your body over the course of your life.

Tablets

Not too much medication

You should also be considerate of your liver with medication, even over-the-counter medications are not exactly liver-friendly!

The popular pain reliever paracetamol has a harmful effect on the liver. So if you absolutely want to relieve headaches with medication, do not use paracetamol, but rather aspirin, for example.

However, you should continue to take all the drugs that your doctor has prescribed for you!

Avoid industrial foods

What the liver doesn’t like at all is extra and, above all, unnecessary work.

With every bite you eat, you are sending your liver a helping of work if you are not careful to choose unpolluted foods.

Manufactured foods contain a variety of chemicals such as colors, flavorings, preservatives, flavor enhancers, humectants, and more.

These are all allowed, but do not occur in an unprocessed, natural food. So that these substances don’t harm you, your liver breaks them down for you and tries its best to render them harmless.

Relieve your liver and avoid industrially manufactured foods! The fewer ingredients, the better! Compare the ingredient lists for each product!

Pizza, for example, does n’t really need any other ingredients apart from flour, salt, yeast, tomatoes and cheese. But you’ll be amazed how much more there is in a frozen pizza when you read the ingredients list! And most of the substances you don’t even know …

Start cooking again instead of adding finished or semi-finished products to a meal or heating them in the oven or microwave. Your liver is happy!

vegetables

Prefer organic food

A study found that 83 percent of all apples in German supermarkets are contaminated with a cocktail of up to 8 different pesticides, herbicides and fungicides.

And the sad thing about it. Because the poison is sprayed into the soil as the apples grow, these poison cocktails cannot be washed off or peeled off the apple.

Because they are absorbed by the plant (and thus also by the apple) with the water as it grows and are also found in the fruit itself!

Paprika and grapes are particularly badly contaminated, but in principle fruit and vegetables do not have to contain poison, which your liver has to filter out and excrete for you!

If you switch to organically grown food, you are sending your detoxification organ on permanent vacation, because it then has less to do! Other “liver-healthy” foods are:

  • Artichoke: As a traditional medicinal plant, the artichoke can support the liver in its metabolic tasks. The bitter substance contained in artichokes stimulates the metabolism of the liver and bile.
  • Dandelion: Dandelion also contains bitter substances that support the liver’s metabolism. Spring is the best time to enjoy fresh dandelions! Make sure you only pick the young leaves far away from roads.
  • Chicory: It is the bitter substances in chicory that are good for our fat metabolism and relieve the liver.
  • Radicchio : The lettuce leaves are very unpopular with children. This is also due to the healthy bitter substances that stimulate the liver and bile and ensure healthy digestion.

Avoid fatty liver by normal weight

Fatty liver occurs when the liver stores fat cells. Fatty liver arises from our unhealthy lifestyle and is therefore one of the diseases of civilization.

Therefore it is completely independent of age. Fatty liver is also being diagnosed more and more often in children!

There are a few but very clear causes for the development of fatty liver. If you know them, you just have to avoid them.

The causes are: too much dietary fats, too much alcohol, disturbed intestinal flora and diabetes.

By changing your diet to a low-fat diet that is rich in fresh fruits and vegetables and contains fewer calories than your body needs, you can make the fatty liver go away.

At the same time, you also strengthen your intestinal flora, prevent elevated blood lipid levels, type II diabetes and high blood pressure and thus protect yourself against several deadly diseases of civilization.
