What Happens If You Stop Complaining?

Even if it is sometimes difficult to hold back negative thoughts when we stop complaining, it suddenly becomes apparent how positive one can be.

It probably doesn’t sound like a huge challenge, but it’s actually harder than you think once you pay attention to the amount of time you spend complaining. Way too much!

If something does not go as planned, there are many reasons to  complain. One justifies, for example, that one can relieve pressure through it.

Although you can get rid of anger, frustration and other negative emotions by complaining, this behavior can also develop into a habit – over  time you can become a pathological complainer!

It is easy and convenient to complain, but it draws all the attention to the negatives. You no longer allow yourself to see the positive things too, or to look at  everything from a different perspective.

This makes you feel unhappy or has the feeling that only bad things are happening to you without you having any influence on them. In this way you automatically see yourself as a victim.

The constant complaining also affects the ability to make decisions. You feel uncomfortable in your own skin, but you do nothing to escape this situation, because you resign yourself to the role of victim.

However, you are not tied to this role! Nobody forces you to do it, you can change that at any time.

Decisions are often difficult, which can lead to indolence. After all, it’s easier to stay in your comfort zone and complain about anything.

With this attitude,  however, your life becomes more and more negative. 

When you complain about even the smallest things

If lawsuits play a leading role in life, they are used as a strategy, even in completely irrelevant situations.

You can complain if a glass falls on the floor. What a drama!  However, if you look at the situation from a different perspective,  you will see that nothing bad actually happened.

This can be applied to any situation: for example, if you have to live with your in-laws or are subordinate to a superior who treats the employees badly.

You may not change your situation because you are afraid and find justifications that are the result of your insecurities. In the end, you even end up complaining about things that are completely unimportant.

Because this is how you show your discomfort, which becomes normal because you are unable to change the situation.

You get used to situations instead  of analyzing them and doing better the next time. You are not making decisions to improve your quality of life.

You take things as they are, but without changes in your life you will remain unhappy.

How to complain without saying a word

Try not to complain for a whole day. Note, however, that there are many hidden species, and it is often not necessary to use words to complain about something.

You can also mentally complain, judge or criticize others. Usually one is just not aware of it. But the effect is the same.

You may not make it on the first day, but you can practice. If you can go through 24 hours without complaining, you will feel that your attitude is more positive. You will become aware that your situation is not that difficult and that you can look at everything from an optimistic perspective. 

You should of course continue like this afterwards and complain as little as possible. If you can do one day, you can last two days. The third day is then very easy … and suddenly you are  an optimist who realizes that others are just complaining …

Negativity will then no longer have a place in your life, everything will be easier for you and you will be happy.
